DIN 6798 A: External Serrated Washers The serrated exterior of the washer may prevent the nut or bolt from loosening due to increased friction with the surfaces of the connected parts.
DIN 6798 J: Internal Serrated Washers The washer has serrations on the inside to prevent the screw from loosening and is suitable for screws with smaller heads.

Locking washer material
